This is good stuff. I am leading a new marketing effort for a 7 year old hybrid FoHF that has not opened to outsiders before. It is a mix of direct and FoF style investing. We have the hardest time with who we think our target audience is largely because the consultants expect us to look and feel like the usual suspects in the USofA. As a former consultant, who has had the privlege of doing due dilly on these usual suspects I know what they look like and why it sells. Slick marketing and well written stories about process give comfort to the research departments who aren't accustomed to assessing talent and more geared to ticking the boxes.
